Louisiana has been farming sugarcane since 1795. It’s a crop well-suited for the Bayou State’s climate. It hasn’t been easy maintaining the crop through out our farming history. The Sugar Bulletin has been the official publication of the American Sugar Cane League since 1922. It’s a fascinating collection of the trials and tribulations of Louisiana’s most important agricultural industry.
Thanks to a grant from the American Sugar Cane League, the LSU AgCenter digitized the historical documents and made them available to sugarcane farmers, historians, and the public.
